Q: What can I expect in my first therapy session?
A: Your first session is an opportunity to connect with your therapist and talk about what brought you to therapy. We’ll discuss your goals, relationship dynamics, and any areas of concern. You’ll also learn about the approaches we use, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) or the Gottman Method, so you can feel confident in your path forward.
Q: Are sessions available online?
A: Yes, we offer secure telehealth therapy sessions for clients throughout Utah. Whether you live in Salt Lake City or beyond, you can meet with your therapist from the comfort of your home. Our online sessions maintain the same level of warmth, confidentiality, and professional care as in-person therapy.
Q: Do you take insurance or is therapy private pay?
A: We are a private pay practice, which allows us to maintain flexibility and confidentiality for our clients. This also ensures that your treatment decisions stay between you and your therapist, not dictated by insurance limitations. We can provide superbills upon request for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement.
Q: Do you offer sex therapy?
A: Yes! At Simple Modern Therapy, we provide sex therapy for couples and individuals who want to improve intimacy, communication, or connection around sex. Our team includes AASECT-certified and sex-therapy–trained clinicians, ensuring an affirming, shame-free, and inclusive environment for all sexual orientations and identities. Whether you’re working through desire differences, sexual pain, or intimacy after trauma, our goal is to help you rebuild trust and confidence in your sexual relationship.
Q: Do you offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy in Salt Lake City?
A: Yes. Simple Modern Therapy was one of the first practices in Salt Lake City to offer fully LGBTQ+ affirming therapy for relationships.
